Independent Pension & Retirement Planning Advice

A key aim for many people yet to retire is to have the confidence that they will have an income in retirement that can support them and their wider family in the lifestyle that they desire. We provide independent financial advice to help our clients achieve their retirement goals.

You may already have a clear idea of when you want to retire and how much you’d like to retire on, but if your goals are not yet clearly defined we will guide you through a range of questions and scenarios to help you determine these. From here, we will analyse your options and recommend a personal retirement plan according to your budget, your objectives and the time you have until retirement.

Independent Pension Advice

  • We provide independent pension advice on the following pension products:

  • Personal Pensions

  • Stakeholder Pensions

  • Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS)

  • Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPP)

  • Drawdown Pensions (Flexi-Access Drawdown)

  • Annuities

  • Pension Transfers/Switches

  • Directors Pension Schemes

  • Group Workplace Pensions – Auto-enrolment Schemes

  • Pensions & Divorce

  • ISAs, Open Ended Investment Companies (OEICs) and life policies which can also form an important part of your retirement income.

Once we understand your circumstances and retirement goals, we will make a recommendation on the right pension product(s) for you. For example, this could be a Personal Pension or SIPP while you are building your retirement ‘pot’ or a drawdown pension or conventional annuity when you come to draw an income.

Formulating your retirement plan:

Some of the areas we consider when providing pension advice are:

  • Your existing arrangements

  • Current and ex-company schemes

  • Your projected State Pension and Personal Pensions

Your views on risk and capacity for loss; we will make our professional recommendation on a suitable asset allocation across cash, fixed interest, equity and property and subsequently recommendations on specific funds to invest your pension within.

The tax-efficiency of your pension planning both now and into the future, including your available annual and lifetime allowances. While you are building up your retirement pot, we will make recommendations to ensure you are maximising growth and minimising taxation. When you come to draw your pension income, we will make recommendations that allow you to maximise income and minimise taxation.

Any changes in pensions legislation and how this may affect you both now and into the future.

Our Independent Financial Advisers will listen to your preferences and help you understand all of your options, before researching the whole of market and recommending the best product and pension provider to you.

Reviewing your retirement plans

We are proud to work with our clients on a long-term, collaborative basis. Once we have agreed and put your pension and retirement plan in place we will meet with you twice yearly.

Review meetings allow us to adjust your pension arrangements as the economy, markets, tax regime and your personal circumstances and goals change, to ensure you stay on track to achieving your desired retirement goals.
